I studied Buteyko breathing with Patrick McKeown and qualified as a practitioner in 2021. Since then, I have collaborated with some of the leading myofunctional therapists in the UK and see clients online or in person.
I have experience with hypertension, asthma, rhinitis, insomnia, snoring, sleep apnea, panic attacks, depression, Long Covid, menopause and performance anxiety.
I have also worked with neurodiverse children and those with Special Needs including ADHD, autism, Tourette’s Syndrome and visual impairment.
Additionally, my professional music background as a violinist in the UK and abroad has given me valuable insight into the stresses and strains that high-level performance can bring, enabling me to help those with performance anxiety and stage fright.
I discovered the importance of breathing properly when my son was sleeping badly and had difficulties at school with concentration. Through Buteyko exercises, I helped him to sleep better, which meant he could concentrate better during the day.
I was surprised that a few simple exercises could have such a profound effect on him and started noticing how badly my friends and family were breathing. I decided to train and help other people change their lives too.
I usually work on my own, though have collaborated in the past with myofunctional therapists to develop children's sessions, or provide a comprehensive service to clients looking at changing their teeth/jaw/tongue position alongside altering their breathing habits.
The majority of us over-breathe, and I realised I could help most people breathe better and give them a better quality of life!
I can travel to Kent, Surrey and London to visit clients in person if preferred, although most sessions are held online.
